August 2024 – ISO 14001–certified Drake On-Site Services recently partnered with Glenn Banaguas and Fr. Ben Beltran, SVD, two Outstanding Filipino Laureates for a tree-planting activity in Tanay, Rizal.
Some 30 Drake On-Site Services employees and their family members joined the activity, planting a total of 200 bamboo seedlings on a one-hectare plot. An additional 200 seedlings will be planted, and altogether, the bamboo planted is expected to sequester 126 tons of carbon. This volume will offset Drake On-Site Services’s annual carbon emissions of about 100 tons.
“The participation of every Drake On-Site Services employee plays a vital role in building a greener, more sustainable future for our community,” said event organizer Skynard Ibalio.
Joining the tree-planting activity was Reyn Allen, 6, who is the son of Reynel, one of Drake On-Site Services’s messengers and the interim lead for workforce management. Reyn shared how he enjoyed being able to plant a bamboo seedling by himself.
“This tree-planting event is one of many initiatives Drake On-Site Services has implemented to combat climate change and operate sustainably and ethically. The company has already transitioned some of its messenger teams to e-bikes to reduce environmental impact. We will continue to collaborate with our clients to manage carbon emissions and environmental impact,” said Drake On-Site Services country director Dr. Krees Castañeda
